How to keep private data secure in measuring the quality of the Internet?
Privacy on the Internet has become, in the last days, one of the most desired attributes of businesses that work with data. It is not a revelation that customers are becoming concerned about the personal information that can be obtained from their activities on the Internet. Nowadays, ensuring the protection and security of personal data is one of the main challenges for companies to deal with.
“One of the decisive fights of our times will be the fight for the control of personal information, the fight for the big data to become a force of freedom”, stated Alessandro Acquisti, privacy economist, at TEDGlobal.
Now the EU is witnessing the establishment of minimum standards for processing data, we wonder: is it possible to gather information and keep the user’s data secure? The answer is yes.
At CASE on IT we take privacy very seriously. We advocate for the right to privacy ensuring that our tests, which measure the quality of the Internet, do not cross users’ personal data.
MedUX works on a similar way as a friend who comes to your place and connects the smartphone to your home Wi-Fi network. You both are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, but the information browsed can’t be shared or accessed, it is private content.
Thus, MedUX just connects to the Internet and performs own tests that simulate users’ activities on the Internet, such as web browsing or video playing, and obtain information about the quality of the service. Even, it can detect if the speed obtained is the one you have contracted.
This way, we can measure a series of parameters of how Internet is working, but we guarantee that we do not get any user’s private data.
More than twenty-five operators from seven European countries already rely on us, and Case On IT is present in 4 continents worldwide, working for a better Internet service with regulators and governments.
