MedUX 2024: Celebrating 10 Years of Innovation and Looking Ahead

We celebrate a decade of leadership, innovation, and commitment to Quality of Experience (QoE) in telecommunications!

This 2024 marks a special milestone for MedUX: our 10th Anniversary. Over this decade, we have worked tirelessly to transform global connectivity and improve the quality of experience for millions of users worldwide. From our beginnings to today, we have established ourselves as leaders in QoE measurement, testing, and monitoring solutions, enabling operators, regulators, and enterprises to deliver faster, more reliable networks adapted to future needs.

MedUX X Anniversary

In this special year, we have expanded boundaries, launched innovative solutions, and reaffirmed our commitment to digitalization, inclusion, and meaningful connectivity. Join us as we look back on the key milestones of 2024!

We kicked off the year with the publication of our 5G QoE benchmarking campaign in London, revealing EE’s outstanding performance as the leader in 5G experience, excelling in metrics such as availability, web browsing, gaming, and video streaming, achieving download speeds of up to 800 Mbps and a 99.6% service reliability.

We also continued our exclusive study to measure 5G network quality in major European cities, including Berlin, Munich, Paris, Lisbon, Rome, and Madrid. This commitment to transparency and measuring true QoE strengthens our role as a reference for 5G network assessment in Europe.

We once again participated in the Mobile World Congress. MedUX had the opportunity to shine and speak at MWC in Barcelona about how we have become the first convergent provider to integrate robots (active probing) and multi-platform agents with our own full-stack technology (HW, SW, Infrastructure, Analytics), offering affordable and customer-centric use cases for both fixed and mobile networks. Our multi-platform QoE Suite, which intelligently combines crowdsourcing, integrated agents, probes, and drive testing, can offer unparalleled benefits to the industry.

We also launched our second benchmarking study, Revealing the TRUE 5G Quality of Experience (QoE) in Europe (II).

We were thrilled to see the German delegation, especially Dr. Wilhelm Eschweiler, Vice President of BNETZA, attend to receive the award for the Best 5G Network in Europe!

Beyond MWC, MedUX also participated in the ITU Workshop on “Telecommunication Service Quality” in Maputo, Mozambique, reaffirming our commitment to meaningful quality. Beyond connectivity, our goal is to ensure digital experiences that drive social development and reduce the digital divide in the most vulnerable regions.

We launched #MedUXImpact, our Social Responsibility Program. At MedUX, we believe connectivity is key to a more sustainable and equitable future. With the launch of #MedUXImpact, we align our strategy with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on:

  • SDG 4: Quality Education – Measuring connectivity in schools to ensure adequate access to digital education.
  • SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Driving fixed and mobile technologies to transform cities.
  • SDGs 8 and 9: Decent Work and Infrastructure – Closing the rural-urban digital gap and supporting societal digitalization.

MedUX joins TM Forum, driving innovation. We are proud to have been accepted as TM Forum members and actively participate in the Innovation Catalyst project, focused on the Autonomous Customer Experience Index for Wi-Fi and 5G networks. Led by Telefónica and Elisa, this project demonstrates our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement of customer experience.

In June and July we launched the Fixed Broadband Benchmarking in Italy and the UK:

  • In Italy, our benchmarking report highlighted Fastweb as the leader in QoE and reliability.
  • In the UK, BT excelled in the fixed broadband QoE campaign, winning awards for Best Quality of Experience and Best Reliability against strong competitors like Sky and Vodafone.

These reports provide a comprehensive view of fixed network performance and reinforce the importance of ensuring high-quality connectivity at home and at work.  
 

Strengthening Presence in Latin America: Projects with Regulators and Governments

We are proud to strengthen our presence in the Latin American region. Throughout this year, we have collaborated with regulatory and governmental entities in countries such as El Salvador, Panama, Honduras, Colombia, and Costa Rica, developing tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of each market:  
 

Central America

In collaboration with regional entities across Central America, we have implemented customized solutions to monitor and improve telecom service quality.

  • El Salvador: Partnering with SIGET, we implemented a comprehensive quality monitoring system for mobile and fixed networks in public buildings like hospitals and schools. This solution provides real-time visibility into network performance.
  • Honduras: We worked with CONATEL to verify and guarantee real-time voice and data service quality, helping resolve user complaints and improve their experience.
  • Panama: Collaborating with ASEP, we focused on evaluating the quality of fixed services, ensuring compliance with key commercial plans and addressing user concerns and complaints.

More Projects in Latin America

  • Colombia: In alliance with the CRC, we implemented a crowdsourcing system that monitors mobile service quality nationwide, providing a real and transparent view of user experience.
  • Costa Rica: With SUTEL, we participated in the annual generation of fixed and mobile internet quality reports.

These projects reflect our commitment to bridging the digital divide, improving connectivity, and enhancing user experiences in the region.  
 

Innovation: New Products and Solutions

This year also witnessed the launch of innovative solutions responding to the evolving needs of our customers and the industry:

  • Quality Awards and Certifications: This solution provides independent recognition to highlight excellence in QoE, reliability, and network performance. It helps build trust and loyalty by validating operators’ commitment to customer experience.
  • QoE Scorecard: A comprehensive tool that consolidates key performance indicators into a single Global Score. With a transparent methodology and coverage of fixed and mobile services, it allows effective and comparative optimization of customer experience.
